Trending Now: Fringe

Trends have a lifetime of rotation.  One of my favorite trends that has been making waves again is fringe details.  I have been seeing fringe EVERYWHERE, and I don’t hate it.  From t-shirts, to hoodies to fringes on our feet this is one trend I am hoping sticks around til at least fall.

While fringe may scare some away with its western vibes, I think it adds a lot of edge to simple outfits that can even be office friendly (fringe isn’t just for the festival grounds!).

Here are 3 fringed out pieces I am loving right now!

1. American Rag Fringed Faux Suede Waterfall Front Jacket
(Currently On Sale for $29.99 with an extra 25% off!)

I purchased a similar version of this jacket back in January when it was on sale for $35.  The style I got has more of a moto-jacket shape.  American Rag is hands down one of my favorite department store brands, I love the lightweight feel of the materials and fabrics they use and even though it’s technically a juniors brand the sizing works for women.  The faux suede material in these jackets (there’s more than one style!) is so soft and buttery and is perfect for a chilly office in the summer or paired with jeans and blouse for the fall.

To style this for the office I paired mine with an aztec printed shift dress from Julian Taylor and some simple wedges.

2. Fringe Top from Old Navy
(now on sale for $9.97 plus an additional 30% off!)

I am a t-shirt and jeans girl, so when I saw this fringed tee from Old Navy I immediately knew I needed to have it.  I found myself digging through the Old Navy clearance rack in Herald Square one Friday night and to my surprise this shirt was there.  The best part was it rang up for only $6.50 (added perks!).  Because of its boxy shape I decided to go with an XL, even though it is a bit oversized I don’t mind because that allows me to play with tucking and layering.

This t-shirt can also be dressed up or down.  I paired mine with some ombre boyfriend jeans (also from Old Navy, I’m an addict) and my go to white wedges.  This look is perfect for a Sunday full of errand running and with my Tory Burch canvas tote slung on my shoulder it looks even more chic and put together.

3. Rebecca Minkoff Julian Fringe Backpack
($395 at Nordstrom)

In all honesty this is an item that is way out of my price range but, a girl can dream!  I have been lustfully browsing through Rebecca Minkoff purses a lot these days and this one repeatedly keeps catching my eye.  My latest frantic shopping search has been backpacks and the leather and fringe detailing on this dreamy piece has my mouth water and my wallet wincing.  This is a great backpack for work or the weekend and like all the other fringe pieces can easily be dressed up or down.
